What is Inside?
Inside is a workforce management platform for planning shifts, tracking attendance, handling requests and paying staff. Learn what each part of Inside does and who uses it.
Inside helps organisations with shift-based teams plan who works when, record the hours actually worked, handle requests and approvals, and turn confirmed work into pay.
The main parts of Inside
| Part of Inside | Who uses it | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Management Portal (web) | Administrators, HR, finance and outlet managers | Organisation setup, employees, schedules, approvals, timesheets, claims, payroll and reports |
| Inside app (mobile) | Employees and managers | Viewing shifts, clocking in and out, requesting leave, submitting claims and, for managers, acting on team items |
| Casuals Hub (web) | Managers and staffing teams | Requesting, approving, filling and settling casual shifts |
| Inside app for casual workers (mobile) | Casual workers | Finding open shifts, offering availability and working assigned shifts |
| Agency Portal (web) | Staffing agencies | Seeing client requests, assigning workers and reviewing billing |
How the pieces fit together
- Your organisation is set up with outlets (locations or departments), roles, employment types and policies.
- Managers build and publish schedules, using demand and templates where these are configured.
- Employees see their published shifts in the app and clock in and out.
- Managers review attendance and confirm timesheets.
- Confirmed time, claims and allowances flow into payroll, where enabled.
Why you might not see everything
Inside is configured per organisation. Some modules are switched on only for certain organisations, and what you can open depends on the access your administrator has given you. If a guide mentions something you can't find, see I can't see a feature described in a guide.
