Set up claim types

Create the claim types employees can submit, such as transport or meals, with category, limit, receipt requirement and accounting codes. Edit or archive them later.

Steps

  1. Open the claims and allowances settings.
  2. Add a claim type.
  3. Enter the name and choose a category.
  4. Set whether it's active.
  5. Set the limits: a limit per claim and, if you want one, a limit per month, year or pay cycle. Then set whether a receipt is always required or only above a set amount. Claims that break these rules can't be submitted.
  6. Add the accounting cost centre or GL code if your finance team uses them.
  7. Save.

Edit or archive a claim type

Open the claim type to edit it. Archive a claim type you no longer use so employees can't select it. Past claims keep their type.
